About That JUSTICE LEAUGE 'Massive Reshoots' Rumor

According to producer Charles Roven (via an interview with COLLIDER.COM, says that’s simply not the case – though there is additional photography coming soon.

“We’re just in the post-production process. That’s where we are. We’re in the middle of it, and I think it’s pretty common knowledge that we’re going to be doing some additional photography. The complications of trying to, you know -- Henry [Cavill]’s on MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE, and our Aquaman is making AQUAMAN, Amy [Adams]’ doing SHARPE OBJECTS -- so everybody’s busy, and it’s that crazy Rubix cube of trying to find a way of getting everybody in the place to do the work that we need to do. Which is not that vast, the amount of work that we have to do, but it’s still really complicated that everybody’s in different places around the world. The reality is we are in the midst of trying to schedule the only additional photography that we’ve been trying to schedule. We haven’t done any additional photography up to this point…Since we’ve wrapped, there’s been no additional photography.”

Zack Snyder steps down from ‘Justice League’

A terrible family tragedy has forced Zack Snyder to step down from his work on Justice League, he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter. Snyder’s wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder will also be taking a break. The Avengers (and soon to be Batgirl) director Joss Whedon will be taking over and finishing Justice League.
In March, Snyder’s daughter Autumn committed suicide at the age of 20. Snyder initially planned to continue to work on Justice League, even after taking two weeks off to cope with the tragic loss, but understandably, it became too much to deal with.
“In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was way through it,” Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter today, with his wife Deborah sitting by his side. “The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all consuming. And in the last two months I’ve come to the realization …I’ve decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me. They are all having a hard time. I’m having a hard time.”
Warner Bros. is supporting the Snyders during this difficult time. “What they are going through is unimaginable, and my heart — our hearts — go out to them,” says Warner Bros. Pictures president Toby Emmerich.

The Secret Behind Creating The Batman

Bob Kane (above) who got all the credit.
Bill Finger
A new documentary makes the compelling case that Bob Kane, the Caped Crusader’s acknowledged father, unjustly hogged all the credit at the expense of his collaborator, a little-known writer named Bill Finger.
“Batman & Bill,” debuting Saturday on Hulu, follows author Marc Tyler Nobleman’s obsessive quest to learn more about the mysterious Finger. Nobleman’s research was poured into the 2012 book “Bill the Boy Wonder: the Secret Co-Creator of Batman.”

Could Josh Gad Be The Penguin?

OK, I'm not going to say that Josh Gad has been cast as The Penguin in THE BATMAN (or GOTHAM CITY SIRENS, BATGIRL or NIGHTWING which are other BEU films currently in the works), based off one obscure tweet. But it is sort of weird that he would randomly tweet out a picture of The Penguin. Who knows, maybe he's just a big Batman fan and The Penguin is his favorite villain.

The Batman director Matt Reeves on his vision for the solo film

The Batman director Matt Reeves on his vision for the solo film

Warner Bros. Pictures recently brought on director Matt Reeves to helm their upcoming solo movie The Batman, although he is far too busy putting the finishing touches on 20th Century Fox’s War for the Planet of the Apes to have gotten too deep into it already. Nevertheless, the Batman director recently told Los Angeles Daily News about his vision for the Caped Crusader.

“It’s a strange thing to be involved in the two franchises which were the two that I was connected to most as a child,” Reeves said. “I just was obsessed with Batman when I was a kid. What I find so interesting about him as a character is that, as far a superhero goes, he’s not superhuman, he is a person. And he is a tortured soul who is grappling with his past and trying to find a way to be in a world that has a lot that’s wrong with it and trying to find a way to reconcile all of that.”
